RAINE,
Eden Lowrie - As summer came to a close, we said a sad farewell to Eden
Raine, born in Stanmore, England, October 9, 1940. One of the best - he
spread his love and energy into everything he did, rallying people around
until the job was done. Finally admitting a hurdle too high, he died Friday,
September 22nd, 2006 after a very brief illness, holding the hand of his
deeply loved wife of 42 years, Jill. Always diplomatic, he held closeknit
his family of three children, Miles, Lorin (Bev), and Nicola (Brad) who
greatly mourn his loss, as does his sister, Una. His grandchildren, Ethan,
Callum, Robyn, and Avery, will dearly miss their "Dubby" with his constant
jokes and pure fun. His humour, love and friendship will certainly be missed
by his many friends. Colleagues at Soroc Technologies, where Eden spent
twelve happy years, also say good-bye to a dear friend and "Uncle" to all.
Eden spent countless hours on charitable boards and organizations, wherever
he saw a need he could fill, and he will be sorely missed. His funeral will
be held Saturday, September 30th at 11:00 a.m. within the warm embrace of
his extended family, friends, and church community of St. Jude’s, 10 Howarth
Avenue (Victoria Park and Lawrence, Scarborough). Visitors are also welcome
